Bone regeneration

Bone regeneration is essential in implantology and oral surgery when bone volume has been lost due to periodontitis, atrophy, infection or extraction. The goal is to create a stable bone bed that allows implants to be placed predictably and ensures long-term clinical success.

At Sanhigía you will find all the necessary materials for horizontal, vertical, 3D and sinus augmentation techniques, as well as autologous graft procedures, membranes, fixation systems and high-quality biomaterials.

Guided bone regeneration (GBR) creates a protected space in which bone can form without interference from soft tissue, thanks to barrier membranes and specific biomaterials. It is a key technique for reconstructing bone defects and preparing sites for implant placement.

Each clinical case requires a specific approach, ranging from horizontal and vertical regeneration to the Khoury technique, sinus elevation or crestal expansion. These procedures combine bone grafts (autologous, allogeneic or xenogeneic), resorbable or non-resorbable membranes, fixation systems and biological enhancers such as PRF.

These techniques help restore lost bone volume, improve implant stability and reestablish anatomical structure in defects of periodontal, traumatic or post-extraction origin.
